Polly Chandler has become one of my favorite artist to look at. Although most of her photographs seem to be just portraits they each have there own unique qualities. Her work is more than just portraits, they are in a since narratives of ones life. The way she uses her subjects in relationship to the surrounding landscapes help to give them a very surreal feel, which is help by the use of large format film and blurring portions of the photographs. Polly Chandler is slowly becoming one of today's most successful photographers winning many awards and gracing the cover of magazines such as Photo Life.
